10 Good Things

_MG_6812-2 Folklórico Dancers, Celina TX.

  1. I walked and lifted weights today.
  2. I was able to help my kid with her car payment.
  3. I pan-fried gyro meat for the first time, and it was delicious. I also learned that gyros (γύρος) shares its root with gyroscope — both from the Greek for "turn," because the meat rotates on a vertical spit.
  4. I got a good shot of dancers at a Cinco de Mayo festival.
  5. I made a little more progress on Bach's Minuet in G.
  6. I resisted the urge to buy new camera gear for an upcoming trip.
  7. I haven't been on Facebook all year.
  8. Instead of upgrading my iPad, I wiped it clean and turned it into a dedicated eReader — everything else disabled.
  9. I'm not freaked out about turning 60.
  10. It turned Friday while I was writing this.
