Brothers and Sisters

Photowalked an old cemetery today. It's interesting how, 100 years ago, people were identified by their role in the family.

I don't think we're family oriented anymore. I don't think there will be any new family plots, in America. Small town folks who already have them may continue to use them, but I think that'll be it.
What happens to a culture that forgets its dead? A slow erosion of meaning. With no shared space for grief, the past floats away.
