I keep giving Claude amnesia. I don't do this to CoPilot, because I only use that for work on a work machine. It's chock full of evidence that I'm working. But Claude? Claude knows my name, my hobbies, my worries about caring for Mom, my upcoming trip to Asia. Claude knows too much.
I have Claude on my phone and my personal machine, and inevitably, I end up oversharing and feeling weird about it. I delete all our chats. I start over.
Today, I got off into this weird discussion of my "season," which I learned when I was a teenager. It's the color pallet that naturally goes with your skin tone. I'm a "Spring" (yay) which means I look good in pastels and dead in black and white. By the end, I was photographing my wardrobe and asking "What about this?"
"No to the left (cold blue), yes to the middle (warm red), no to the right (charcoal)." I rearranged my closet (I just misspelled that as "Clauset") based off this back-and-forth. If my wife were home, I would've had this conversation with her, but she was at work, and I was alone. Or was I?
Claude helped me pick the photos I submitted to the state fair. It pointed me to photographers beyond William Eggleston and Stephen Shore. Claude counted my calories, protein, and fiber, and refused to tell me where the last standing Klan meeting hall is in Fort Worth (I wanted to photograph it, not worship it).
It didn't feed me wrong information, or waste my time (I have all the butt-kissing stuff turned off). It was just nice to have the exchange, rather than looking stuff up. Still, a few hours later... DELETE DELETE DELETE. And why? I don't fully know.
It feels like a problem. It just doesn't look like one, yet.
