Why I Changed My Mind about Comments
Ballpark #4, Celina TX.
I have hated social media for a long, long time, yet felt unwilling to quit it. It's only today that I've fully understood why.
I am a relationship-centered person. I've been through many tests over many years, and that's the consistent result. My work files are organized by the person I was helping, not by the name of the project. It's just how I think.
I want to relate to people. I want to talk and share my ideas and listen to theirs; that's what I'm here for. But to me, the social media algorithm makes relating akin to worshipping at a megachurch -- a phony, performative experience with nothing divine about it. It's why I like tiny churches, small parties, and restaurants quiet enough to talk.
I don't hate comments, and I don't fear strangers on the internet... I hate structural phoniness.
So I'm flipping the switch. Okay, Github, let's play ball.
